Drill Down & Filter

Dive into the details of your data with ability to drill down and filter.

Updated over 3 months ago

The Renterra Analytics dashboard includes ready-made charts and graphs. You can uncover more information from your data by drilling down or applying filters to display specific subsets.

Drill Down

Drill Down allows you to take a look at a more detailed view of your data. For instance, when analyzing time utilization by category, you can drill down by item to observe the time utilization for each individual item within that category. Renterra allows you to drill down on both tables and charts within the Analytics dashboard as well as any chart produced by Ask Renterra.

To use the Drill Down feature, follow the steps listed below. For this example, we will drill down to see the time utilization of the items within a specific item category:

  1. Right-click the chart object (such as a column on a bar chart, or a section of a pie chart) or data point of interest in your answer.

  2. Select Drill down.

  3. A list of options will appear. Click any of the options to gain deeper insight into your data. For this instance, select Item.

  4. A new chart will appear showing a detailed look of the data. In this instance, we went from all Item Categories, to seeing the time utilization of the specific items in the Earthmoving category.

  5. To return back to the original graph, simply select the undo arrow at the top of the chart. You can also Download or Present your data by selecting the (...) in the right-hand corner of the graph.

Filter

While drilling down allows you to see a more detailed view, filtering allows you to display only the selected criteria. If we take the scenario above, we can filter the entire dashboard to only show the time utilization of the Earthmoving category.

To Filter, right-click and selecting the filter option on the category that you wish to see.

This action will filter the dashboard to the specific category as seen below.

To clear a filter and return to the original graph, select Clear All at the top of the dashboard.
