How do I add / take photos for an Order not in the context of a delivery, pickup, or check-in?

If, for example, a customer is picking up equipment themselves and you want to document the condition of the Items before they take possession, you can create a “Custom Checkpoint” to upload time-stamped media of the asset.

To do this, click on the “Timeline/Media” tab, click Custom Checkpoint, and select the appropriate customer pickup. From here Upload Media and click Submit . That media will be stored in the Order Details.
