Why Add Line Items?

Adding line items to a maintenance request allows you to accurately track and record costs associated with the request. This is especially useful if you need to charge a customer for maintenance as a part of a rental order or keep track of an item's return on investment.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Start by navigating to the maintenance request in question. Once there, you will see a "Billing Summary" section.

  2. Click on the "Add Line Items" button located in the billing summary section.

  3. A pop-up window will appear, giving you the option to select the type of line item you would like to add. You can choose between Parts/Materials or Service/Labor.

  4. Once you have selected the type of line item, you can then enter a description and associated costs for the item.

  5. Click "Submit" to save the line item. It will now be stored against the work order and also in the item's maintenance history.

  6. Repeat this process for any additional line items you need to add.

  7. Once you have all the necessary line items, you can create one or more invoices to send out to customers.

Note: Currently costs associated with Work Orders do not get added to the General Ledger as expenses. If an invoice is created for the charges, an Accounts Receivable entry will be created

Adding line items to a maintenance request is a simple and effective way to track and record costs associated with the request. By following these steps, you can ensure accurate billing and keep track of maintenance expenses for your business.
