Updated over 6 months ago

Welcome to our help center article on maintenance and work/service orders! In this article, we will explain what maintenance is and the different types of maintenance requests that can be made.

What is Maintenance?

Maintenance is the process of keeping equipment and items in good working condition. This can include routine tasks such as oil changes or more serious repairs like engine replacements.

What is the difference between an Internal Work Order and Service?

Work and service orders are two types of maintenance requests that can be made. These requests can be viewed in the maintenance tab of your company's account.

Internal Work Order: Is an internal maintenance task on an item from your inventory. This can range from routine scheduled maintenance to more serious repairs. Work orders can affect the availability of an item, with a "Soft Down" status meaning the equipment can still be rented out and a "Hard Down" status meaning the equipment cannot be rented out.

Service: A maintenance request originating from an external customer on an item they bring in. Both types of requests will show up in the field app, yard view, and the maintenance page.
